Also found in the Oct/Nov 2003 issue of "Taste of Cooking" magazine. A green vegetable I can like.

Green Beans with Basil

fresh green beans, 1 lb
1/4 c water
2-3 Tbsp butter or margarine
1/2 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped celery
1 garlic clove, minced
1 1/2 tsp minced fresh rosemary or 1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1 1/2 tsp minced fresh basil or 1/2 tsp dried basil

Cut beans to about 2" lengths. Place beans and water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil; cook, uncovered, for 7 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain; add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook for 4 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Yield: 6 servings.

That sounds good and easy to make aswell. I'll have to give it a try sometime. :)

It is indeed; the only tedious part is trimming the ends off the fresh green beans. It's quite tasty with the herbs and onions. I personally leave out the celery because some of my family dislike celery, and it's still very good.

I'm not a terribly big fan of celery either. In my opinion it's just there to give you something extra to chew on, it doesn't have any flavour and doesn't really do anything for a dish. ;)
