Petrified Wood, part 1

dragoness_eThe petrified logs are found in the south half of the park, south of the Tepees. A lot of times, they are just scattered chunks, like someone sliced a tree into sections and then just randomly flung the sections about. Other times, they are complete logs, though apparently cut into sections.

That white stuff isn't snow, it's clay or sand. The petrified wood all seems to be weathering out of one particular layer of reddish stuff--go too low or too high, and there's no wood to be seen.
