Here are some pictures of the horsehair pot I picked up in Gallup, New Mexico on the way to California and subsequently gave to one of my relatives as a Christmas present. Although horsehair pottery is a modern variation of an ancient technique, and not necessarily of Native American origin, it was developed in New Mexico and many of the artists who produce it are Navajo or Pueblo.

Signature

While I can't quite make out all of the signature, it's definitely one of the Vail family, who are a well-known family of Navajo artists.
