*chuckle* I know it is. I felt like taking the rather overdone meme of "Transformer N. laments the friends he's lost in the war" and put a twist on it. Because, you know, Screamer is like a bad penny--you just can't get rid of him. He turns up when least expected... and probably least wanted ;-)
My Raditz story, "Why?" got written for the same reason. I felt like taking a very old, tired plot from comics and putting a twist on it.
Starscream has done a Raditz on me and crawled into my brain and Won't Go Away. It's very inconvenient to be obsessed with him right now, since I'm trying to write original fiction. I was hoping that writing a couple of shorts about him would get it out of my system, but now he's nagging me about a longer fic about him and Skyfire travelling the galaxy. And getting in trouble. And more trouble.
Go away Starscream! I love you, but I have a novel to write that DOESN'T have you in it!
