Erm, I don't recall Goku getting beat up seriously in "Deceiver's Legacy". Sure, he and Vegeta had a go at each other a few times, but as we all know from the Buu Saga tournament, Goku holds back on his very top level stuff when fighting Vegeta because he wants to have a fun fight with Vegeta, not destroy the planet or kill Vegeta. Naranja was way too optimistic about her ability to hurt Goku--she never really touched him, even at the end.
And if you watch Goku's fights, he always takes hits against other than trivial opponents, especially if he underestimates his foe initially. Heck, that makes the fight more fun for him! He just doesn't get beaten.
Vegeta wasn't fighting Raditz in Chapter 7, he was punishing him. The power difference between Vegeta and Raditz is so extreme, there's no concept of "fight", any more than you'd have a "fight" between Mr. Satan and Vegeta.
There are people that write Goku/Chichi fics. I think people just find Vegeta a much more interesting character to explore, because the Bulma/Vegeta romance is such a contrast with Vegeta's more homicidal side.
Anyway, I write Raditz fics... though I'll concede that "Mythic Descent" is a really complex B/V fic, in some ways. As for couples, Bulma/Vegeta, Goku/ChiChi, Kulilin/Eighteen, Bardock/OFC, Toma/Celipa, Lunch/OC, Raditz/Bulma, Raditz/OFC and various OC/OC all turn up in my fics, at least as cameos.
