Welcome to the fourth installment of my photos from the Egyptian Museum. The next few installments will be about items relevant to daily life. Quotes are from museum placards; the rest is my own.

Perfume and make-up bottles

You can also see a couple of make-up applicators.

Hand mirrors

Mirrors were made of polished bronze; when it was polished up, it was an excellent reflector.

Makeup applicators and comb

Tweezer and Razor sets

"The Egyptians were very fastidious about facial and body hair, and strove to eliminate all but the hair on their heads. These handy tools include a small razor and a pair of tweezers, very efficient tools for a beautician."

The container to the far right, that looks like a lipstick case, is a kohl (eyeliner) container.

Makeup or lotion jar

Necklaces and beaded jewelry

Beads made of polished decorative and semi-precious stones were a popular material for jewelry.
