Birds at the Park, November 22, part 2 of 3

Walking around the pond, we spotted a few other things...

Sitting on a piling was a double-crested cormorant. Note the different neck and beak compared to the anhinga from previously.

Cormorant

Like the anhinga, the cormorant must dry its wings

Wandering around the park, we spotted this fellow:

What's that?

It turned out that he was someone's escaped pet rabbit. He was pretty tame.

Hey, who are you guys?

You aren't important enough for me to stop eating

Rabbit

On the other side of the dry fake waterfall, we found another rabbit:

Black & white rabbit

This one was a bit more shy. It turned out that there are several feral rabbits living under the concrete of the fake waterfall.

We also saw another one of these introduced doves:

European ring-necked dove

Next time: we finally find the cygnets.

Over here, we call those collared doves. They're vermin, and very tasty at that.
