Backlog: Houston Museum part 2
Part 1 was the fossils
Part 2, this post, is about the butterfly exhibit. If you are in Houston, it's worth stopping by to see.
(Once again, I had to do some photo-processing, and colors may have been altered )
The butterfly exhibit at the Houston Science Museum is a multi-story dome with a spiral path from top to bottom (or bottom to top if you enter backwards like we did). There is a waterfall that cascades from near the top to a pool at the bottom, and the walls and floors are planted with tropical plants and trees. It's filled with gorgeous tropical butterflies; they are everywhere, resting on leaves and 'rock' cliffs, drinking from puddles, flitting through the air...
The dome

Tropical plants that probably have butterflies on them somewhere

See?

Butterflies on a ledge

Butterfly close-up

Butterfly on mossy rock

Blue butterflies

Another butterfly closeup

One of those 'owl eye' butterflies

I tried to take several pictures of this one, but they all came out badly. This is the best of the lot.
