I agree with shadowofspawn but you got a point. Certainly Screamer is the most skilled flyer among her fellow seekers, and probably he's among the best TF flyers. I find hard to believe he could make such mistake.
But you're right, too. Skyfire is faster than him, and 'Fire seems to be more preparated about interstellar (sp?) flys than our seeker.

As for the story itself. Well, you know I think you're a good writter, but I've seen too many fics about Skyfire's broker frienship with Screamer. It's a plotbunny (at least in certain sections of Transformers fandom) and I've read several stories like this previusly. However, the twist at end of the story makes it different.
