Watching Iron Man...
So, here I am, re-watching the "Iron Man" DVD for the Nth time. Only the other times, I hadn't read David Drake's "Northworld", and in turn been motivated to read certain Icelandic sagas.
So I never before realized that the first part of the "Iron Man" movie was a retelling of Volund's Saga, with Tony Stark as Volund.
This is why one needs an education in classic literature and mythology...
Edit: "Volund's Saga" is part of the Poetic, or Elder Eddas, if you're looking for it. Also, Volund, aka Weylund, is not a nice guy.
